When answers feel tangled, reflect content and feeling, then reframe toward purpose. “I’m hearing urgency around launch, and worry about quality; did I capture that?” This blend validates emotion, sharpens direction, and keeps momentum without bulldozing complex concerns.
Invite scales and thresholds to anchor decisions. Ask, “On a one to ten, how confident are you?” or “What deadline would be painful, not catastrophic?” Numbers don’t replace nuance, but they compress ambiguity into shareable signals that guide tradeoffs and commitments.
